              In our country, there are many people's do farming in better way. All farmers do farming of cotton, Onion, Wheat, Bajara, Jawar, Rice etc. But in nowadays the most challenging farming is the Pearl farming which is new trend  increasing fastly. The Pearl farming is with less labour and gives higher profits. So, in this article let's discuss about- How to do/start Pearl farming?

 

          There are many centres in India which gives training about the Pearl farming. Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar in Odisha state is one of the state gives training about the Pearl farming. Like Odisha there are also many state provides the training about this farming.

         Firstly, we think about the best season for farming of Pearl. Most favorable season for the cultivation of Pearl is between October to December. The beads cultivated in a pond of at least 10 × 10 feet  or larger. 

 

1) For the cultivation of Pearl we want about 22000 to 25000 oysters in a small pond. The oysters are about 0.4 ha. Oysters are found in ponds, rivers etc. So, collect the oysters firstly from any source of water. If you don't have any option then it may be purchased.

2) Now, after that every minor operation in every oyster, simple or designed beads are put inside it. The beads may about 4 to 6 micrometer. They are in shape like Buddha, floral, Ganesha etc. But If you want any shape of beads then try it.

3) Then closed the Oysters. 

 

4) Now, Oysters are kept in Nylon bags for about 10 days. Two oyster in each bag can be kept using the bamboo or a bottles and left at a depth of 1 meter in the pond. This is hold on antibiotic and natural feed.

 

5) After that, oysters are kept in ponds. But in this 10 days check the oysters daily and remove the oysters which are dead. 

 

6) The rate of Oysters is 20,000 to 30,000 oysters per hectare. 

 

7) At the end, the material can be settle around the bead. This beads takes the shape of pearls. 

 

8) The process takes time about 9-10 months. After this months, oysters is ripped off. 

 

9) Removed the Pearl from the oysters. 

 

10) After removing the pearl from the oysters, the Pearl can be sold in the market. 

 

Costs of Pearl:

 

         The cost of one oyster is about 25-30 rupees. The cost of the 1mm to 20 mm oyster Pearl is about 300 rupees to 1500 rupees in the Market. There are much better profit in Pearl farming. In Foreign markets, there are good price of Pearl than the Indian Market. The cost of designed beads are larger than the simple beads.

          Like other farming, the Pearl farming is also has many benefits for the farmers or our environment. Pearl farming gives many earning than other farming because of cost of Pearl is very large in nowadays. 
          Designated necklace, or other jewellery may be include pearls for fashion or brightening the face. The water of rivers and ponds is purified by oysters. Hence it is also used for solved the problem of water pollution. Pollution can be minimized by pearls farming in greater extent.
