14 Indian Agri-Startups Win National Startup Awards 2021
The successful winners of the National Startup Awards 2021 were announced by the Government of India few days back. About 46 Indian startups were recognized for their donations to their respective industries. During the ceremony, an incubator and an accelerator were also honoured.
The National Startup Awards 2021 investigate to encourage startups that contribute to economic dynamism through change and competition. It aimed on startups that are growing innovative methods or designs or products, scalable businesses with a maximum potential for job establishment or wealth establishment, and that have revealed measurable social collision.
Numerous Applications Received:
The National Startup Awards are in their second year. Applications were sought in 15 sectors and 49 sub-sectors. Agriculture, animal husbandary enterprise technology, and fintech were among the industries represented.
The ministry received 2,177 applications from startups in 49 different types of industries. For the ecosystem enablers categories, applications were also received from 53 incubators and 6 accelerators. Of these, 863 were led by women, and 253 were based in rural areas of the country.
According to the Ministry, the winners were chosen based on six criteria that are Innovation, Scalability, Economic Impact, Social Impact, Environmental Impact, and Inclusiveness and Diversity.

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi announced January 16th as ‘National Startup Day’ untimely today. Prime Modi gives special attention to startups, calling them the “Backbone of New India.”
This coincides with the Centre's new approach to the startup ecosystem. According to the government, 49 regulatory reforms have been implemented in the last five years to improve the ease of doing business and raising capital.
The National Startup Awards materialize to be a better way to encourage startups and conform the public about their donations to the Indian economy. The initiative is commendable, and it is hoped that it will inspire a new generation of social entrepreneurs.
