Now, Wood is also like as a Steel
All of you know, Domestic constructions made out of wood were famous many years ago. Wood is used for home construction like flooring, frames of the windows etc. Many types of wood are used in many differents types of fields. In North America wood is used for construction work which is called as Lumber. In Medieval Europe oak is used for all wood construction which also contains beams, walls, doors and floors.
The scientists of the Maryland University which is present now in United States discovered the different types to handle hardwood sheeting and larger lumber. That means we can used in for many purposes where we want like nails, knives, or honeycomb shapes strong enough to help the heaviness of a vehicle like car. Wood is also molded in many different shapes. A knife which is made up of wood can be made almost three times sharper than commercial table knives. Wood also becomes flexible enough to roll. There is no need of breaking of wood for becomes flexible. There is also one new technique for handle sheets of the hardwood i.e. the wood can be bent into three dimensional structures by this new techniques. Also we can treat wood as a plastic or metal. Scientists said that - in future steps is to make this process even faster. The basic is that to break down much of the woods lignin and hemicellulose, polymers which gives us woods cell walls much of its fibers and vessels by evaporation process (steam of water in it). The components after that partially swollen repeat in a few faster water shock process. i.e. Reopening the containers in the wood and making wrinkled cell walls which disfigure.
The above technique, the group/ team manufacturing the wood in honeycomb shapes up to six times powerful than the original hardwood due to the increase manufacture of hydrogen bond around remaining densely packed cellulose fibers. These wood material is used on construction, furniture and transportation, wherever lightweight substances like aluminum alloys are use in nowadays.
The scientist Liangbing Hu at the University of Maryland which is in United States says that - Handling the larger wood with sodium hydroxide and also sodium sulfite to partially clear it's lignin and hemicellulose, pressing it, and after that drying it in a hot press. In which the result of this process proves that this material is 23 times harder than raw wood, due to hydrogen bonds present in it. They also shows that a hard wood can be form almost 3 times sharper than commercial table knives. This material used for manu many purposes like wood nails, which also work the same as steel nails but wood nails will not rust.
The another scientist Dennis Jones which are from the Lulea University of Technology in Sweden. They said about the wood - the essential processes for manufacturing wood pliable, moldable and stronger are well known. And the Researchers says that - give it to a new step of severity to get the properties they report. This is an extreme kind of continuously multiple site work. The shapes of the molded wood starts to lose their shape when exposed to moisture. This molded wood can be recover by the oil treatments.
