 Ingredients:  

1) 1 Kg amla 

2)  2 tsp chemical lime 

3) 1/2 kg sugar 

4) 6-7 cups water 

5) 1 tbsp lemon juice 


Recipe For Preparing Amla Murabba

1] firstly, Prick the amla with a fork. Dissolve 1 teaspoon lime in water and soak the same overnight. 

2] Wash the amla carefully after removing it. Repetition of the process is necessary. 

3] After draining, wash thoroughly. Remove any residual lime by squeezing and rinsing. 

4] Bring a pot of water to a warm or boil and add the amla. 

5] Cook until it is translucent and tender. 

6] Drain the water and set it aside. 

7] Make a syrup using the sugar, lemon juice, and 6-7 cups of water. 

8] Remove any excess scum that has formed. 

9] Add the amla, bring to a boil, and then simmer for 4-5 minutes on low heat. Allow it cool completely before storing in an airtight jar. 

10] You can season it with elaichi or any other flavouring you choose.

Ingredients: 

1) ½ kg gooseberries.

2) 3 tbsp sesame oil.

3) ½ tbsp asafoetida powder.

4) 1 tbsp fenugreek powder.

5) 2 tbsp chili powder + 1 tbsp Kashmiri 

6) Chilli powder

7) Salt  as required.


Preparation of Amla pickle


1) Rinse the gooseberries and wipe off the water.

2) Heat sesame oil in a flat-bottomed vessel.

3) Add the gooseberries.

4) Fry on medium flame until they turn red in colour.

5) Add salt when the gooseberries shrink and cooks well.

6) Into it add asafoetida powder and fenugreek powder, stir to mix well.

7) Turn off the flame before adding the chili powder.

8) Stir again and mix it thoroughly.

9) After the pickle is cooled, store in dry, air tight containers.
